The Blinkatorium Returns! Central Baltimore Partnership is excited to present a new Blinkatorium landscape from Scott Pennington, roller skating performances from It’s My Skate Night, and a spot to chill out in Stephen Hendee’s The Grotto. Be sure to note performance times and when The Orbiter is in session for your personalized photo souvenir from Artscape 40th! Visitors can expect a unique blend of art and entertainment that invites them to engage and unwind in a creatively transformed parking garage.

Inviting Light Pop-Up

Get ready to be dazzled by the "Inviting Light" pop-up (14 W. North Ave., Historic North Avenue Market Building), located next to The Club Car Baltimore. This provocative installation curated by Derrick Adams with music by Dan Deacon teases Baltimore's highly anticipated Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge project, "Inviting Light," a two-year community-driven, artist-led initiative, that aims to transform public spaces in the Station North Arts District with captivating art and interactive activities. Step inside this pop-up installation and let your notion of light be illuminated. Additional information about "Inviting Light" will be available on-site.

B 24 Exhibition

B stands for Baltimore and best whilst 24 is the year 2024. The B artists series was created in 2019 by curator, Kirk Shannon-Butts, to place a spotlight on emerging contemporary artists in the burgeoning Baltimore art world and what he deems “The Baltimore Arts Movement.”

During Artscape, Baltimore's beloved arts festival, Stillpointe Theatre has collaborated with Central Baltimore Partnership and The Club Car Baltimore to present a Queer-Scape pop-up. This special event aims to showcase and celebrate the talent and diversity of the local LBTQIA+ artists in the community. Attendees can look forward to a vibrant display of art, crafts, and artisan-made pieces, as well as engaging performances including drag, dance, and burlesque.

During daylight hours, BIG is hosting free improv shows open to all. But for the 18+ crowd, starting at 9:00 p.m. some of Baltimore’s funniest comics will take the stage for the popular program LOL@Artscape.

LOL@Artscape celebrates the diverse, eclectic, and always hilarious comedic style of Baltimore’s comedy scene, featuring performers that have been seen on Comedy Central, HBO, Amazon Prime Video, Starz, and across the world. You can catch LOL@Artscape on Friday or Saturday night — or both! The lineup is different each night for maximum laughs. Comedians include They/Them Ty, Bryan Preston, Violet Gray, Ian Salyers, and more. Your host with the most is Michael Furr.

Twelve local emerging and professional designers bring their fashions to the runway at The Garage, hosted by Caprece Ann Jackson. Each designer’s show will feature an original composition by the Baltimore Jazz Alliance. On Fri., Aug. 2 from 5:00–9:00 p.m., Project Artscape is partnering with the Baltimore MET Gala to activate The Garage for a stylish evening of networking, including a panel discussion with Baltimore fashion movers and shakers.

This installation by TRIBE School of Embodied Arts demonstrates how embodiment unlocks our capacity to fully embrace this human experience, builds community and takes us on a journey of deep connection with our bodies and one another. Garden Party is an outdoor beer and mead garden curated by Baltimore's First Board Game Bar, No Land Beyond featuring local food by Our Time Kitchen. This cozy, shaded outdoor space will feature six draft lines, including a special Artscape collaboration between Charm City Meadworks and Peabody Heights Brewery. Local food vendors will provide small bites. Grab a pint from the Peabody beer truck, then head over to the outdoor game station with bocce, badminton, giant classic games like Jenga and Connect Four, lawn bowling, and more.

Enjoy outdoor dining specials by Station North’s beloved restaurants: Alma Cocina Latina, Foraged, Tapas Teatro, and the Royal Blue. Foraged, a hyper-seasonal eatery, will be opening its doors at 12:00 p.m. for light lunch fare and will stay open late until midnight offering light bar fare and cocktails. Alma Cocina Latina will be serving their famous Venezuelan snowballs and more. Tapas Teatro will open early for wine, cocktails, and small bites.

PUBLIC ART

The Nest We’ve Woven

1706 N Charles St

Inspired by the community of Station North, The Nest We’ve Woven features several landmarks of the neighborhood — including storefronts of local businesses. The figure depicted is Vander Pearson, the owner of Pearson’s Florist, which has been located at the corner of Charles St and North Ave for the past four decades.

"The Nest We've Woven" is a project of the Station North Arts District, a program of Central Baltimore Partnership, produced in collaboration with the artist, Mike Shecter, and the Charles North community. This project was made possible by a Community Art Grant from Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts.

The Maryland Avenue Bridge Mural

MAryland avenue bridge

The bridge over I-83 connecting Charles North and Mount Vernon is undergoing a creative transformation. Local mural artist Saba Hamidi — whose art adorned public utility boxes on the Artscape footprint last year — is painting a massive mural (over 1,000 feet long!) on the walls of the bridge. The mural major step in implementing the Falls Gateway Project, an initiative the Midtown Community Benefits District in partnership with Friends of the Jones Falls. The mural is generously underwritten by the Central Baltimore Partnership.

Live Aerosol

Friday — Sunday

A live painting exhibition highlighting the unseen skills and style aesthetics of Graffiti writers and Street artists working in spray paint. Curated by Adam Stab, a graffiti community elder statesman and muralist, it showcases various regional styles and top talent in spray paint art.

Signal Light Gallery

Friday — Sunday

Signal Light Gallery is an open-air exhibition space featuring projected light murals by Miranda Javid. The gallery was developed and curated by Public Mechanics, as part of the Signal Station North project with installation by Alec Sparks of The Voxel. Keep an eye out for future Signal Light Gallery pop-ups and long-term installations in Station North and beyond.

See-Saw City

Friday — Sunday

This installation, created by Lawrence Moore in collaboration with Jack Danna, invites you to explore tactical urbanism and art through tactile experiences. The physical interaction of a shared space fosters community engagement, reminds us to find sensory joy within the city.
