area 405
exhibtion, 1FL

405 E Oliver St
Area 405 is pleased to present Trembling Grounds: Push-Pull Practice, an exhibition that dismantles and reconfigures the boundaries of art-making. Join Maya Gurantz for a live performance on the Opening Reception — Endurance Performance Proposition #2 (Lenny Bruce Live at Carnegie Hall), a durational engagement reanimating the raw volatility of Bruce’s infamous 1961 performance, interrogating the friction between comedy, free speech, and bodily limits. Another performer Lucia Shuyu Li’s SING!SING!SING! explores vocal endurance as both rebellion and release of body movement and functionality.

Atrium Artspace

2029 Maryland Avenue
Atrium Artspace presents Where The Maps Run Out, a group exhibition curated by Rui Jiang of the Baltimore-based Flying House Arts Collective. At the outermost peripheries of cartographic certainty, where lines falter and dissolve into the ether, a liminal terrain emerges—one that is neither here nor there but perpetually in the throes of becoming. Where The Maps Run Out convenes the spectral gestures of Kyoungho Isaac Kim, Chia-Hsiu Liu, Tim Moran, and Valentino Orlando, four artists who invoke the errant, the uncharted, and the disassembled as they wander through shifting ontologies of space, identity, and form.

Visit the BJC studio, check out our space, including our retail shop, learn more about our classes, and check out our current exhibition, One Day You'll See, by Laurel Fulton. The exhibition consists of a series of ocular devices that shift the participants' visual perception of the world and individuals around them. This is accomplished through magnifying, compressing, flipping, distorting, and reflecting the world using lenses, and varying opacities of mirrored surfaces. One Day You'll See is on view through March 14th and the BJC Gallery is open 7-days a week.
